England v New Zealand: New Zealand beat England by 5 wickets in the first semi-final in Abu Dhabi to advance to the final of T20 World Cup 2021.
England gave New Zealand a target of 167 in 20 overs. The Kiwis competed at the start of the chase as they reached just 36/2 at the end of the power play.
Fast bowler Chris Weiss has rocked New Zealand by dismissing Martin Guptill and Ken Williamson. As the pitch opened, the Kiwis’ boundaries dried up as they reached 58/2 after 10 overs.
But they then managed to take Ante to some extent as they launched their 50 possible partnerships out of 48 deliveries. Conway then dropped to 46, and was followed by Glenn Phillips shortly after, when Livingston’s double shot returned to the NZ.
However, 11 of Niceham’s 27 balls changed the course of the game as it allowed Darley Mitchell to reach his limit and he remained unbeaten on 72 to take the team home with six balls to spare.
After joining the stick in the first innings, England got off to a good start, with Johnny Barstow and Joe Butler reaching some early boundaries. However, Bairstow’s night ended early in the 14th when Ken Williamson made a brilliant catch to Adam Milne. England reached 45/1 after 7 overs.
In the next three overs, ENG added 22 miles, but also lost Joe Butler, who was on the farm when he stopped near Ash Soda on the 29th. Then, it was David Malan (42) and Moin Ali who restored the English innings for the third wicket at 63 miles before Tim South beat Malan.
Finally, Moin Ali hit his virgin T20 WC several more big blows on the road to the century when England beat Abu Dhabi 166/4 20 in the NZ clash against ENG.
