Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has told the Russian people that their leader Putin is destroying them.

After Russian President Vladimir Putin’s New Year’s Eve address to his troops, Zelensky said the Russian president was not leading his troops but hiding behind them.

Deadly attacks were carried out across Ukraine on Saturday, and Zelensky said the Ukrainian people would not forgive Russia. At least one person has been killed and dozens injured in these attacks.

Officials say more missile attacks were carried out in the early hours of the New Year on Sunday. There were no Dead in the attack.

The head of Ukraine’s armed forces, Valery Zalonzne, says that air defenses destroyed 12 of the 20 missiles fired by Russia on Saturday in the air. In recent weeks, dozens of attacks have caused repeated power outages in Ukraine.

Moscow has repeatedly denied targeting civilians, but President Putin recently admitted targeting key energy installations.

In a speech on his Telegram channel, Ukrainian President Zelensky said that the perpetrators of Saturday’s attacks were inhumane.

After that, he addressed the citizens of Russia in Russian and said, “Your leader wants to show you that he is ahead and leading and the army is behind him.” But in reality they are hidden.

They are hiding behind the walls of their army, their missiles, their residences and palaces. “They are hiding behind you and they are burning your country and your future.” No one will forgive you for terrorism. No one in the world will forgive you for this. Ukraine will not forgive.

Zelensky later delivered a New Year’s address to the Ukrainian people, thanking them for their “incredible” efforts to repel the Russian advance. “We fight as a team, the whole country, all our regions, I value you all, I want to thank every invincible region of Ukraine,” he said.

Russian President Putin also issued a statement on the New Year that was broadcast across all 11 time zones of Russia.

The Russian leader tried to win public support for his troops fighting in Ukraine, saying the country’s future was at stake. “We have always known and today it was once again confirmed to us that a sovereign, free and secure future for Russia depends only on us, on our strength and will,” Putin said.

He described the attack on Ukraine’s autonomous region as a “defense of our people and our historic lands” and said “we have a moral and historical right to it.” President Putin also accused the West of inciting Moscow to attack Ukraine on February 24.

He said that the West lied about peace. It is preparing for aggression and now they are using Ukraine and its people to weaken and divide Russia.
